We had so much fun last week at our free Music Together classes that we’ve added two more – both at First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh at Aiken and Centre in Shadyside. That’s the church where the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library is located. We’ll meet tomorrow morning, December 20 and January 3 at 10 AM. We have spaces for only 12 children at each class, so respond quickly to karen@mtfirstnotes.com with the number of children you’ll be bring, as well as their ages. Hope to see you – tell your friends, too! For more information about Music Together classes in Pittsburgh, visit www.mtfirstnotes.com.

Posted by Maribeth | Dec 3, 2013

CMU Master of Urban Design students’ presentation of their studio projects for the Bloomfield Bridge/ShurSave site will be this Friday, December 6, at 5:30 pm, and we hope you’ll be able to join them!  These students have re-envisioned the intersection at Liberty Avenue and the Bloomfield Bridge and are proposing a new mixed-use development on the ShurSave block.

The presentation, which will be hosted by the Bloomfield Development Corporation, will be held in the West Penn Hospital Conference Center (main building, ground floor, next to the cafeteria).  It will be fairly short and casual.  The three teams will give a short overview of their projects, followed by open-house style visiting at stations with project models.  Refreshments will be served.

We hope you’ll be able to come.

“Jesus the Light” — Fourth Presbyterian Church

Posted by Maribeth | Nov 13, 2013

From Fourth Presbyterian Church: 5450 Friendship Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 – (412) 661-7414 – email: 4thPresPGH@gmail.com

Dear Pastors, Christmas event alumni and interested volunteers,

We at 4th Pres are excited about our 2nd annual Christmas event, “Jesus the Light”. We will host it
Saturday, Dec 14th @ 6:30PM. We pray it will again serve as an outreach to the community, introducing
our neighbors to Christ using a quality production of “The Christmas Story” as told by our churches using
drama, choir and music.

Last year, with the help of the Lord and several churches, the inaugural production was deemed a success.
There were 25 singers, 10 actors, 12 band members, 10 hospitality folks, advertisers, video & audio
production, decorators, and 250 or so in the audience. The offering was given to “Open Hands”, a local
non-profit group. This year, we need the same volunteer participation for “Jesus the Light” to bless the
Friendship area neighborhood. We ask you to join with us in this endeavor.

Ted Rymarz will once again lead the undertaking.

The initial need is for singers with some choir experience. If you would like to sing with us, please review
the rehearsal schedule and contact Ted ASAP via phone 412-400-3984 or email
( trymarz@verizon.net ). You’re response either way helps the overall planning and preparation. Please
pass the information on to folks who may want to sing in a large choir. We expect choir members to attend
at least 4 rehearsals and the Dec 12 dress rehearsal.

The choir rehearsal schedule:

Wednesday, Nov 6 @ 7PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Wednesday, Nov 13 @ 7PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Wednesday, Nov 20 @ 7PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Sunday, Nov 24 @ 1:30PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Wednesday, Dec 4 @ 7PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Sunday, Dec 8 @ 1:30PM, 4th Pres Sanctuary

Thursday, Dec 12 @ 7PM (Dress rehearsal), 4th Pres Sanctuary

If you have any questions please contact Ted Rymarz (see above) or Pastor Eric at (916) 367-9628.

We’re excited to put our best efforts together and do something great for our God. We believe this is
something that will reach out to our community and be a great experience of Christmas for all involved.
The Lord has given our talents to us, may we use them to honor Him and advance His Kingdom.

In Christ,

Pastor Eric Amundson & Ted Rymarz
